And indeed, three teams representing Unsri won medals at the 2023 Seoul International Invention Fair (SIIF).
As reported by SUMEKS.CO, citing a post on the @humasunsri Instagram account, these three teams of Unsri students won one gold medal, two bronze medals, and one special prize.
The three Unsri student teams that brought home the medals were Athirah Azelia, Mutmainnah, Nathasya Shasykirana, and Melinda Syafitri from the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA).
Also, Annisa Tri Tifani and Nyayu Fithriah Al Kamilah from the Faculty of Public Health.
These three teams won the SIIF Golden Prize and Bronze Prize, and one of the teams also received the Special Prize.
These awards were presented by the National Research Council of Thailand on November 1–4, 2023, in Seoul, South Korea.
One of the gold medal recipients, Athirah Azelia from the Pharmacy program at FMIPA Unsri, said she was very proud to receive this award.
“I’m certainly proud to be one of Unsri’s representatives who succeeded in bringing honor to the university at an international event,” she said.
According to Athirah, she never expected to win at this international event, as she and her team had to compete against 26 countries.
“These 26 countries were selected to participate in SIIF 2023 and brought home the gold prize and special prize at Asia’s largest inventor event,” she continued.
For the record, SIIF is an international event that serves as a platform for the exchange of information regarding inventions, patented technologies, and the commercialization of inventions for inventors around the world.
