It was observed that the event took place at the Tanjung Madang village office and was attended in person by Tanjung Madang Village Head Ujang Sodikin, Koramil 404-01 Gelumbang Babinsa Corporal Idham, Kelekar Health UPTD Mira Prama Am.Kep, Roziji S.kep, BPD Chair Arpan, Unsri Community Service Program (KKN) students, as well as community leaders and the Chair of the Tanjung Madang Village Youth Organization.

In his remarks, Tanjung Madang Village Head Ujang Sodikin expressed his deep appreciation and warm welcome for the outreach event on how to make natural disinfectant and observe COVID-19 health protocols in his village.

These activities were carried out by the Gelumbang Military Sub-District (Koramil 404-01) in collaboration with staff from the Kelekar Health Technical Implementation Unit (UPTD) and the community of Tanjung Madang Village, as well as Unsri KKN students, as part of efforts to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in Tanjung Madang Village.

He went on to urge the residents of Tanjung Madang Village and the Unsri KKN students to adopt and implement the production of this natural disinfectant in their village to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in Tanjung Madang Village.

“Well, up until now, as far as we knew, disinfectant could only be purchased, but it turns out it can also be made using natural, environmentally friendly ingredients, and it’s more economical.

Hopefully, we can apply the knowledge we gained today together to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in Tanjung Madang Village,” stated Ujang Sodikin.

Meanwhile, Captain Arh Mardin SE, Commander of Military District 404-01 Gelumbang, through Village Defense Officer Corporal Idham, explained that this natural hand sanitizer is made from natural leaves that are easily accessible to the community by boiling them in water until it comes to a boil and then straining the mixture.

He added that the ingredients for this natural disinfectant come from betel leaves and lime leaves, which are boiled in an appropriate amount of water until it reaches a rolling boil and then strained. The resulting solution can be used as hand sanitizer or as a disinfectant in large quantities to be sprayed on homes.

“Yes, hopefully, with the knowledge we’ve shared, the residents of Tanjung Madang Village can put it into practice to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 in Tanjung Madang Village.”

“I also urge the residents of Tanjung Madang Village not to forget to always adhere to the 3M COVID-19 health protocols (wearing masks, washing hands, and maintaining physical distance) in their daily lives to avoid the spread of COVID-19, which is still rampant today.”
