Minister of Research and Technology Encourages Unsri to Become a 'World-Class University'

“I appreciate Unsri’s commitment to moving in that direction, given all its achievements. To the rector, how can the university’s research efforts be accelerated to ensure high competitiveness?” he said in Palembang (November 7, 2017).

Rector Anis Saggaf stated that as it enters its 57th year, Unsri has reached a mature phase. To maintain its quality, Unsri has focused on several areas over the past four years, such as the quality of the learning process. “Institutional quality and good governance across all units within the Unsri environment, as well as improving the quality of faculty members,

” he explained. “In addition, we are also focused on implementing 10 Unsri programs, including accelerating academic culture, enhancing research, and improving the human resources of faculty and staff,” he added.

Anis clarified that, to date, there are no fewer than 130 full professors, with about 70 still active. As for PhD holders at Unsri, there are 200 on record. “Unsri is currently ranked fifth in research output among the 10 BLU universities,” he said.
