Prof. Dedi Rohendi, an Electrochemistry Expert at Unsri, Has Been Appointed as a Full Professor; Here Is His Internationally Recognized Research
The inauguration ceremony took place at the Unsri Auditorium on the Inderalaya Campus in Ogan Ilir, and he was one of 24 professors inaugurated on September 4–5, 2023.
Prof. Dedi Rohendi, who earned his bachelor’s degree from ITB in 1991, is an expert in the field of fuel cells, specifically water and hydrogen.
In addition, he is also known as a researcher at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) at Unsri and plays a key role as Chair of the Center of Excellence for Fuel Cell and Hydrogen Research (PUR) at the Unsri Bukit Besar campus in Palembang.
His research in this field has garnered not only national but also international recognition.
On one occasion, Prof. Dedi won a gold medal and was named “Best of the Best” for Innovation at the UKM-Fuel Cell Hydrogen Vehicle event in Malaysia.
In his keynote address, Prof. Dedi emphasized the importance of fuel cell technology as a solution for a more environmentally friendly future.
Fuel cells are capable of converting chemical energy into electrical energy with water as a byproduct, making them a promising alternative to fossil fuels.
Unsri’s Rector, Prof. Anis Saggaff, stated that this induction marks the largest such event in Unsri’s history.
It is hoped that with the addition of these full professors, Unsri will move closer to its vision of becoming a World-Class University.
Furthermore, this is also an important step for Unsri toward becoming a State University with Legal Entity Status (PTNBH).
